Last summer, at girl's camp, sweet Emily Evans was telling us a super funny story when she was in Mexico... and I will not attempt to retell it as she is really great at doing it. But when she was done she said, "well, the lady was latina, and you guys just say whatever you want!"
True that!
Anyway, since then my friends and I have been known to use that phrase all the time! its true. Latino's, in general, speak their mind and latino's, in general, can take it. It was funny to me that I was 'offended' that some body didn't realize I was pregnant a few weeks ago. I was like, "you think i was just getting this belly cause I stopped running?" Later I laughed because I expected that same "latino" bluntness...like "WOW! that belly is getting big. You havin' twins or somethin'"... but it wasn't.
Truth is, I love that phrase, it makes me laugh and it might just get me out of sticky situations :) But I have been trying to be nicer, or more politically correct. Dare I say, 'more amercian?'... NO! Just nicer over all sounds better to me.
I love my life. Struggles and all... mostly because I have family and friends that make me laugh and make my life so much fun!!!

I love it! My FIL tells me the same thing - "Well you can say/do that because you're Mexican!" And then one day a few months ago he said, "You have gotten worse since you got pregnant!" So, we have double wammies - latinas and pregnant! :)
I love your life too! You are the best! And I love the new font on your blog! :)
I like you just the way you are.
I wish I could speek my mind more often, but I can't because I'm not Latina! Hahaha
I don't what you mean at all by trying to be nicer...you are super nice as you are. I don't agree with people trying to be politically correct. There is nothing worse than to leave a conversation with somebody knowing that they were not being honest about something because they didn't want to hurt my feelings...so we are different what is wrong with that...as long as most people agree with me I am happy....hahahah!!! love you :)
