He's Not Dumb

Mylo and Milli have always liked each other.  But, like any other siblings, they will occasionally bicker :)  However, the other day I found them playing "beauty parlor."

I'm not sure if Mylo knew they were playing that, but he is not dumb... He was relaxed and enjoying every minute of it.  Milli was loving it!  Its her new thing to comb/brush anyone's hair.

Sometimes I Feel An Overwhelming Love For My Children

While leaving Costco this afternoon, all my monkeys where following close behind me.  I felt like a mother duck with my little ducklings waddling right behind me.  I had them get in the car and while I was putting a way our groceries I teared up {slightly} and told them how much I love them!  Then, my getting-to-big/mature-for-this-kindda-stuff girl says, "ok that was weird."  AHAHHAAAHHAAAA!!!!  Yes, it was a weird timing.  But I had to tell them, right then and there.

I never realized how much love I would feel for these little people.  Never!  But, I feel an incredible amount of love for them and its an overwhelming feeling.  All I want to do is squish them with love :)

Looking into their eyes, as they talk to me (constantly! with not break! about the same "boring" thing!), makes me fall in love with them all over again.  Just like I fell in love with them the very first time I looked into those tiny swollen newborn faces.

OH!
How could I be so lucky?!?!?
I ask myself this question ALL the time.  I'm honored to be their mother.

Easters 2011

Easter was nice.  Mellow and nice!  When I was young all the Easter Bunny brought us was chocolate eggs and candy.  I like that.  I don't like the huge Easter baskets they have here and therefore my kids don't get all that extra stuff.  They did however, get money in some of the eggs and that tradition will continue :)  (They also got some socks and undies, all needed)

For the last couple of years the Easter Bunny has also hidden the "12 Eggs of Easter" They are numbered from 1-12 and each one tells of the real meaning of Easter.
It was by far my favorite time of the day.

We all sat and took turns opening the eggs and talking about our Savior, Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for us.  Then we bore testimony of Him, Leah and Mylo included.  It was wonderful!

I regret not taking pictures of all of us in our Easter best...
but I am sure we will wear them again, sooner rather than later :)

We headed to Al and Diann's for a delicious Easter feast and some SUPER fun egg hunt.  The little kids had the front, the big kids had the back and the adults had the back garage.  I had no idea that we would be participating in the hunt.  We missed last years festivities, as we were out of town.  Dave and I walked out with $75.  Totally unexpected and we were happy with our winnings :)

I SO need to practice taking better pics with my camera.  I suck at centering them!
(ie. Otis TOTALLY cut off in the above picture)

I LOOOOVED Otis' outfit.  He looked so grown up and cute as ever!
He has recently received a buzz cut, that we later regretted. Truth is that Dave was getting a hair cut, so I threw the boys in the mix as well.  I had already given Otis a trim earlier in the week but I didn't like how it had turned out, so I really ruined it!

Its a good thing he is cute or it would have made his new look, not so cute :)   I love his profile!!!! I love his nose... and his lips.... and those cheeks.... and his eeeeyyyessss!!!!

It was a great Easter weekend!

10(ish) Months

This little {serious} baby boy, that melts our hearts, is getting too big, too fast!  Abuela has pictures of all the grandkids after a bath in a similar position.  I should look for the other ones.  Otis is not really this serious, but I love his big eyes in this picture and his little "empanada" foot :)  I smother him in kisses ALL day long.  He is irresistible!

He crawls super fast and his little diaper bum wiggles from side to side, so watch out!  He stand up and then tries to be brave and let go of his hands and looks back at us, as to say, "look at meeee!"  He cruises along furniture.  He loves to get to Dave's DVD/CD/Video Games and pull them from the shelf.  He loves to eat and puffs or graham crackers are his favorite, right now.  He blows kisses and plays peek-a-boo with his fat little hands.  He is mellow and doesn't "talk" much.  He is a very scheduled baby and I love that about him.  He gets shy, even with Dave sometimes, especially when he just wakes up from his nap.  He will bury his face into my neck so you can't see him, LOVE that!  He is a happy little dude and we are enjoying him more than words can say!

This week he has been practicing sleeping through the night and is already a pro at it.  The letting-him-cry-it-out has not been as bad as I was expecting.  I wish I would have done it sooner.  I am happy (so happy) to have good sleep again :)  A rested mom is a happy mom.

Somedays I want to be a kid again....

... making messes that some else will clean up for me

... climbing through a chair and trying so hard, that when I get through it I cheered on.

... not caring what was on the floor and putting anything in my mouth without care

... and the best toy is just a plain cardboard box.
Life was simple!  I am going to enjoy my life a little more through my kids :)

Making Cakes = Dirty Hands

Sun + puddle + dirt= too hard to resist!

This little self-proclaimed princess can pretty much get away with ANYTHING around here.  She smiles and blinks her pretty little eyes at me and she keeps doing what she was doing... in this case, making a mess.

I would not have let Leah and Mylo get away with playing with water or dirt, let alone water+dirt.  But, I am trying to be a more 'carefree' mom and not sweat the small stuff.

She was having so much fun, making a cake for me and I love every minute of her playing, happy, by her self, outside in the beautiful sunny weather!

Her happy face makes my heart melt!!!

Dave's 1st day of {real} work

So just like the first day of school, I took a picture of Dave's first day of work!  This was a big deal to us.  A HUUUUGE life change for me.  I am now tyed down to being home when Otis is sleeping and I have to take all the kids to the grocery store and if one kid needs to go to the bathroom and one wants a snack, I'm the one that has to do it ALL... BY MYSELF!!!!
Really, no big deal.  I have enjoyed Dave being at the office and I enjoy him even more when he is home now.  We needed this and we are SO grateful for it, SO GRATEFUL!!!

The same day that Dave started working at the SK office, I found Otis like this.  Poor baby!  Had Dave been home, one of us would have put him in bed way before this happened.  But its just part of life, at least the Trevino house, all kids must fall asleep like this at some point.

Now the saucer is gone and this little monkey no longer has the option of falling asleep in it :)

Spring Break: The Drive Home + a FUN stop

We took our time getting home.  We had to clean the house and wash towels and sheets in the morning, so there was no way we were going to leave earlier than noon.  We had a couple of places we still wanted to go, like Trader Joe's  :)  We didn't really hit the freeway until 1:30ish.

I was concerned about the traffic on the way to Las Vegas, but it was no problem at all.  Otis and Milli fell asleep and that made the trip a little easier.   Milli's head kept on "falling" down so Abuela made a head "strap" for her....

The trip was pretty uneventful, with the exception of ALMOST loosing my phone in a gas station bathroom.  When we stopped to get gas and a few treats, Milli had just woken up and ONLY wanted her favorite person in the whole world, me :).  She would not let go of me so I had to do my business with her hanging on to me like a baby monkey holds on to her momma.  I carefully, placed my phone on top of the toilet paper holder thingy.  Then, apparently left it there.

We had probably driven about 30-40 mins when I realized my phone was GONE!  I had LEFT IT!!!  AAAAAHHHH!!!!  I wanted to cry, but I didn't.  We quickly called the phone.  No answer.  Called the gas station to see if someone had turned in the phone or if it was still there on top of the TP thingy, wishful thinking, yes, but I could dream right?  Well, no such luck.  There was nothing.  DANG IT!!!!

We called my phone again and this time someone answered AND they said they were bringing me the phone.  Really?  Wow!  Aren't you so nice?!?!?  Anyway, they said they were traveling north on i-15 and that we could meet up.  So after getting our car description form each other, we decided to pull over on the side of the freeway.  Two minutes later, literally, the phone was back in my hands!!!!!

YAY!  SO glad, that the people who had grabbed were right behind us and that they decided to be honest and return it to me.  That would have sucked!!!!!!

If I hadn't gotten my phone back we wouldn't of had such a FABULOUS night with our friends the Manwarrings.  Crissy and Jason were in the married-student ward with us.  I LOVE Crissy.  She is one of the smartest people I know and by far one of my kindest friends!

The kids loved playing with their little man Alex.  Milli and him REALLY hit it off  ;) ;)

Crissy, my mom, Leah and I had an impromptu Miche Bag Party!  SO FUNNNN!!!!!  We chit chatted and had yummy Chinese/Thia/Japanese food.  It was yummy!

After a super fun night we headed to our hotel and the kids played in the tub and we attempted to sleep for the long drive back to Bountiful.  When we got home our house was a cool 48degrees!  IT WAS FREEEEEEZING!  It took 4hrs+ to get to a regular temp.  But, there is nothing like sleeping in our big ol' bed.

The trip was SO much fun!  We had a fantastic time.  We created some fun memories and really enjoyed ourselves.  The kids all slept in the same bed and the night became one of my favorite times of the day.  We would talk about the day (as usual) and then read a book that Leah had brought from school.  We would discuss tomorrow activities and then lots and lots of laughing!

Me (whispering): Milli, want to go to the zoo tomorrow?

Milli (loudly): Whach you said?

Me (whispering and slightly giggling): want to go to the zoo tomorrow?

Milli (louder): Whach you saaaaiiid?!

Me (whispering and laughing):  Want. to. go. to. the. zoo. tomorrow?

Milli (VERY loud):  WHACH YOUUUUU SAAAAIIIIDDDD?  SAY IT LOUD-DER!

all of us:  LAUGHING OUT LOUD.  cause she was SO cute!

Now we constantly say, "whach you said? whach you said? SAY IT LOUD-DER!!!"

GREAT TIMES!!!!!

Spring Break: Legoland!!!!!!!!

This post will be overloaded with pictures... my favorite kind of posts :)

But it must be mentioned that it was the highlight of the entire week for the kids.  We went to Legoland on the last day for several reasons, mostly weather, but also Dave had to work a lot more than we had expected and there was no way we would be going to Legoland with out him.

It was a WONDERFUL day!!!!  We all had a great time and the kids really LOVED it... even if some pictures don't fully show their enthusiasm  :)

There was a SUPER cool Star Wars Lego scene made out of sand.... totally awesome!

Dave "activating" the water thingy with Milli.
She couldn't activate her because she is as light as a feather!

The above picture of Otis makes me laugh a little.
Why?  Cause he looks bored out of his mind!  hahaahhaa

Cute brothers, above.  Cute father and son, below.

Seriously, these are ALL my kids?!?!  Crazy!!!
I still feel so young, I can't have all those kids on the slide!  but, I will gladly claim them :)

Leah got her Legoland Driver's License.  It was SO fun to watch her drive on the little road.  She was so serious about all the rules and so careful with following them.
She was also VERY proud of her new "ID."

I love pictures of Milli and I.  Like two peas in a pod, right?
We were waiting for our boat ride.  It was fun!  We passed Leah and Abuela and we had a good time trying not to "crash" onto the sides :)

I guess Leah really liked this old guy (?!?!?)

Leah was not going to let this "orger-ish" dude hurt her little brother!

Awwwwww!  So cute!!!!

These last three pictures are just a few of the TOTALLY AWESOME and AMAZING mini-Lego scene from Star Wars.  the details are amazing.  These are not figures that you can just purchase.  EVERYTHING is made with Lego's, EVERYTHING!  SO COOL!!!  (I dont even like Star Wars and I thought it was awesome.)

We had such a fun day.  Well worth the wait!  Legoland is not an overwhelming park.  Its mellow and the wait for the rides are not long at all.  It was super fun!!!  The kids LOVED it!!!!!!
