Mylo feeding Al the Dinosaur some very special food, money! Al would talk after you gave him a treat, so of course the kids loved that.
Entering the Toadally Frogs exhibit was this big frog.... Perhaps if Leah kissed it would become her prince charming?!?
The frogs were all very interesting and the kids were very excited to see all the different kinds of frogs and find out their names. Here they are looking at the Dyeing Dart Frog, Blue Dart Frog, and some others I can't remember :)
I have no idea why this thing was in the exhibit, but a great photo op for the kids.
While we were there we got to see them feed the frogs. They only do this 2-3 times a week so it was very good timing. One of the frogs was eating like he missed his last meal, it was cool to see them stick out that big, sticky tongue to eat the grasshoppers.
Here the kids were "inside" one of the tanks. They had just put in some worms for the frogs, who actually have taste buds on their hands. Once they "taste" the worm they eat it very quickly. At first Leah and Mylo didn't want to go "in" the tank but once there I think they enjoyed it.
We also went upstairs were they have a bunch of other cool things like Dinosaurs, Bugs, Wild Life and Minerals. The kids were fascinated by what they were seeing and it was very hands on. We will for sure go back the next first Monday of the month.
Here is a video of the Dart Frogs eating the Flightless Fruit Flies.
(if you look closely you can see the blue frog's tongue)

How fun! I think I will have to take my younger kids.
Man I'm ALL OVER IT.
First Monday of June baby!!
What a GREAT idea.
I LOVE that pic of the kids in that random witch pic.
So cute.
So pretty...but so dangerous, right. I just read in a book yesterday that one kind of frog creates the most potent poison on earth. Where is this museum? My kids would be all over it.
Awesome!! Cute pics too...I think the witch is there because you can relate witches use frog legs in their potions? just an idea...
WOW! I have a smart sister... I never thought of that :)
That looks like a fun place! I wish we had more things like that around here....
I've heard about the free Mondays there...but had forgotten. Looks like thats back on our list of places to visit! Fun pictures.
Lucky you!it looks like a fun place. I have been wanting to take the kids to a kids Museum, seems MOSI is the only one around here and would cost about $70.00 to get and that is just crazy.
