I Love this child....

BUT, (and that is a very big BUT) she has been hard lately.  That is putting it mildly!  She is still super cute and sweet and fun and happy and a character, as you can see from the picture above.  HOWEVER, she is having a hard time understanding that playing with poop is not the same as playing with paint.

Playing with paint is fun and even pretty and the mess is actually fun to clean :) Now, playing with poop as paint?!?!  NOT GOOD! NOT PRETTY! And definitely NOT FUN TO CLEAN UP!!!!!

She is trying, I know she is but the other kids have NEVER played with poop before, N.E.V.E.R.  She will sit on the potty and has had a lot of success in the poop department, but only on her terms and ONLY on HER terms.  Today she sat for a good 45 mins, twice!  I didn't make her sit there for that long, she just did.  THEEEEEN, when it was time for bed we put a diaper on her and said good night.  About an hour later we come down to check on her and sure enough stinkiest basement EVER and poop EVERYWHERE!!!!  She needed a bath and I should have purchased new bedding, including the mattress to get the stick out.

Any suggestions on how to help her be more successful will be gladly accepted!  We have tried bribing her with candy, toys, treats, and games.  We have also tried taking away things when she is not successful.  Has anything worked for you?

Like I said, I love this child, more than words can express.  I just want her to succeed!!!!!!

LOL
Kristin had a tough time with Ella taking off her nappy.
She ended up putting it on backwards, and even that didn't work and duct taped it so she wouldn't have to take it off.

I've got ZERO advice.
My kids aren't the exemplar when it comes to potty training at all.
I must be a usless potty mum.
I've got a good potty mouth though.
;)
Good luck Lau.
Love you girl.

Hey Lau do you wanna put me on your 'email when I've blogged' list?
Then I'd know when you've posted instead of having to check it daily?

That is a hard one. It sounds like you are doing everything you can. Maybe just time? Sorry, Good luck!

UGH! I hate poop nightmares. Hate. Them.

The duct tape did the trick at night. After a week, she stopped trying to get out of her diapers. I don't know what to tell you. Some kids are just stinkers and have to do it their way! Good luck!

Haven't had poop spreaders, yet - knock on wood. But I have had poop eaters! NASTY!
Good luck.

Had some poop paint experience myself, but not many. Maybe I yelled really loud and scared them...I can't remember.;) Sorry I'm not much help, but thanks for the laugh anyway.

I have NO advice for you. Hang in there.

Look at it this way.... maybe she'll be one of those famous and rich artists one day that people acclaim as "genius" in her choice of medium to paint with!

EWWW! So gross! I don't know what to tell you. Kids are weird and every kid seems to be different. And NOPE...no advice here. I'm pretty sure she'll be potty trained before Preston though. I'm the one who may need advice...or just patience with my unique little guy. Good luck! At least we haven't had poop everywhere for awhile. That's the worst!
