$8.97

I have A LOT to blog about... but this could not wait.

See that smile on my face? It also came with tears in my eyes. That is because I went grocery shopping at the newly improved Smith's and they have some "exotic" fruit for sale. Among these new fruits is my favorite of all the fruits, passion fruit. I have seen it there for several weeks, but because of the price on the fruit I have not purchased it. Its $2.99 each! I couldn't hold back the desire to purchase it today... so I did!!!!

As soon as I got home I cut open one of the three, yes I bought three (hence the title of this post), my smile was from ear to ear and my eyes filled with tears of sheer joy! Its amazing that a fruit that perhaps look unappetizing can bring so much joy and bring back so many great memories. I quickly ate all three (after Dave took these two pics).

I enjoyed it some sugar in it...mmmm, SO GOOD! Dave however was not impressed with taste and for sure not impressed with the price (party pooper!). I think it was $8.97 well spent.

ps. I also got some on my white shirt... My shirt liked it too.

I totally agree with you Laura!!! It was an $8.97 very well spent. I was just thinking of maracuya the other day, I was thinking "Where in the world could I get my hands on some..." Too bad I don't have a new and improved Smiths where I live. I am totally drooling watching you eat that in the pictures!!!

Sometimes you've just got to splurge! Glad you enjoyed it!

I was catching up on one of the many reality cooking shows a few days ago (Masterchef, I think). They had to create something "romantic" with passion fruit. Some people got it...other not at all. I would have been on the not at all side. I haven't ever tasted it and certainly don't know what to do with it...

I have never had it. I'm not sure I will at that price. :)It sounds like it was worth every penny.

I have never had passion fruit myself...but Erick has while in Hoduras on his mission and when someone brings it up he wishes for the fruit too. I am sure he would agreed that paying $8.97 for three of them is monney well spent.
You look beautiful and very happy by the way. I on the other hand would love to get my hand on some mamones or some tamarindo.
