Girl's Camp 2009

I had the privilege of going to Girl's Camp with the YW of our ward. Bishop asked me to be camp cook...I had to laugh and it still sounds funny to me when I say that. I can count on my hands how many times I have camped and I have NEVER cooked while camping :). I thought it was funny but of course I jumped on the opportunity. It was SO much fun. The YW leaders are simply amazing! The girls are so lucky to have such wonderful women serving them. After such a rough few weeks at home with Milli's burn and just the stress of all of that it was wonderful to feel the spirit so strongly as I partook in the spirit of being up at Camp Piuta and the devotionals, lessons, crafts and best of all company! I love the spirit that can be felt with a bunch of girls. They are SO amazing. The Lord has saved them for whatever is to come. They are strong and, so long as they do what they know is right, they will accomplish ANYTHING they want. As for my part in camp, i had a great time cooking and it was very easy. I hope I get the chance to do it again. It was great! Its such a great experience but I simply can't do this with out my family willing to help out. The fact that Dave works from home doesn't make it any easier. He and my mom have to tag team with the kids and they are both very busy.... I am sure its all worth it for them as well as me.

My Top 10 from this years camp: (in no particular order)

1. The views
2. Laughs
3. Nacho Libre talks
4. Testimony meeting
5. Crafting galore! (we make leather bracelets, button bracelets, rings, hair ties, treasure boxes...)
6. Being silly ('rehearsing' our So You Think You Can Dance 'entrance')
7. The GIRLS!
8. The LEADERS!
9. The Stake's Chicken Nugget dinner (too funny)
10. Camp Fire sing-a-longs
