Teaching the TRUE meaning of Easter

I found this FHE idea on one of my favorite websites, . From there it links you to another website that has the whole thing laid out for you. We have been really good about FHE this year and this one was easy and fun. I had Leah help me get all the necessary things for each egg and that evening we talked about The True Meaning of Easter. Easter is one of my favorite holidays as we are able to remember our Savior. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be a mom and teach my kids about this magnificent example, Jesus Christ. I feel silly sometimes when I bare my testimony and get all teary in front of my kids, but the truth is that I have a HUGE testimony of Jesus Christ. What his sacrifice means to me and having the knowledge of the true gospel is an amazing blessing. I feel comfort and hope when I am struggling or going through a difficult time in my life. I love to read the scriptures and feel the love that my Heavenly Father has for me. Its AMAZING! I hope you can try this little Easter Activity with your family some time.

To find the full info on this game/FHE idea/activity go to Times & Season. Here is a link to it http://www.timesandseasons.org/?p=2980

I love this little egg teaching opportunity. I remember doing it in YW years ago when I was the beehive advisor. The girls just stared in rapt attention. Easter is a very special time, I agree. It signifies the Resurrection in so many ways, the Savior was resurrected and it seems that nature comes to life again at this time as well. I love how the gospel and nature seem to parallel each other. The Atonement was performed in a garden and Joseph Smith's first vision happened in a grove of tree's. I love it. Happy Easter!
