It was a beautiful day to go to the zoo. Dave stayed home, since he had TONS of work. So Abuela, the kids and I all headed to the zoo and met Alyssa and her cuties there. The zoo is only two miles from the house, but we still managed to be late :)
We spent almost the whole day there. We saw a lot of the zoo, but not all. That place is huge! The animals seemed to be very active and that is always fun for everyone.
Good times were had and fun memories made. Alyssa's kids are darling and were quick to make friends with my kids. Thats always nice, right? Leah was a little too mature to hang with the boys, but she was very fond of Alyssa (who wouldn't be?!?! She is smart, beautiful, fun.....!)
We went to the Petting Zoo area and that was fun for the kids. I thought they would have been more timid getting close to the animals, but they were very friendly with them and they had a fun time in there.
Right before the petting are, Alyssa and I were talking about our two and three year olds and their potty training and how it was going. I told Alyssa that Milli was really good about not having accidents and that poop was usually something we had to push her to do (no pun intended). Right AFTER the petting are there is a little park where we let the kids play. Well, Milli had a HUUUUGE poop accident, HUGE! Seriously, I should just bite my tongue. I didn't have change of unders for her so she had to wear a diapers, she was not happy about that. But I was not happy about what she had done.... i guess she was just having to much fun to stop and go potty... Good time? maybe not. Good memories... I can laugh about it now :)
Abuela and Otis. Not sure how I would be able to have had as much fun with the other kids if Abuela hadn't come. She is SO helpful, always. Plus it helps that the kids like her so much. I really enjoyed my time with my mom. She is an amazing woman and I have much to learn from her.
Milli gave me a pretty flower for my hair.... I love her!!!! I had done her hair in french braid, since that is what she wanted. One side stayed in the other did not. Her hair is one of the toughest things I have to deal with daily.
SO fun to see Alyssa!!!! She recently moved to San Diego from Utah, so it was fun to get together. It was a GREAT day!
I let Leah take the camera towards the end of the day and this is my favorite picture she took. She told Mylo what to do and she had a vision for it... I think it turned out pretty good! She is a creative child, I love that about her.
The zoo wasn't all pleasant, however. We lost Milli's shoe, she scraped her knee pretty bad, she followed someone else and we panicked for what seemed to be an eternity! Of course the poop accident was not pleasant, in the least... I guess next time I should Milli at home... or maybe not! :)

Tomi's Visit: The Zoo
We had a great time at the zoo. We stayed for quite a while and enjoy every minute. The kids were great, which made for an even better experience.
Milli, Me, Tomi, Kylie, Nicholas and Alex. It was fun to spend time with Alex and Nicholas, once again. They loved Tomi and Tomi loved them... perfect match :)
Abuela, Tomi and the kids went on the train. I stayed with Otis. The kids LOVE the train. We also went on the merry-go-round and that is always a fun.

We were also able to catch the bird show. I think the kids really like it. Its a pretty good show :) However, my favorite part of the zoo is the elephant enclosure. I just love that baby elephant!!!
After the zoo Tomi, me and the girls went to IKEA for some much needed items. No pictures of that adventure. It was fun! I loved spending the day having so much fun.

FHE: The Zoo
Last week we went to the zoo for FHE. It was fun to go with Dave. The zoo was empty and it was very relaxing.
The orangutans seemed to be very friendly! When we walked up to see them, Milli and I just stood right up to the window. Eli, the one with the big huge cheeks, saw us eating some fishies and grabbed a stool and sat right in front of us. He was at eye level and just started at us with big brown monkey eyes. After a few minutes Eli, opened his big mouth and tried to get us to share with him and as much as we would of like that we couldn't. Still it was really cool. He was licking the glass and slurping his tongue all over it. It was a little gross but, still so neat to be that close to such an amazing animal. He needs a seriously long visit with the dentist :) His hands were so impressive and I think he looks like a very sweet orangutan. I certainly won't forget that 'connection'.
Dave is usually the photographer at our house, but I managed to get some got shots as well. I love this one of Milli and Dave walking together and the one below of some sloppy kisses for Dave and Leah and Mylo hugging in the background. I love it!

Milli, Mylo AND Leah all on the elephant truck. I love these monkeys... They seriously make me so happy, even when i am mad at them!
I also LOVE these two handsome and funny boys. How could I be so lucky?
One last picture... I love Leah and Mylo's expression, they look like siblings. Now Milli, I am still not sure.

Utah Hogle Zoo
Leah has been out of school for the last half of this week do to Kindergarten Assessment (She did great BTW) and so was Maddie, our little cousin from San Diego who just moved here. They don't live super close and Leah and Maddie have opposite schedules for school. Getting together has proven rather difficult... so when we found out they were going to have time off at the same time we jumped on the opportunity to get together.
We got tickets to the Carousel... always a good time, BUT Mylo insisted on sitting on a bench seat NOT a up-and-down animal, so he tagged along with some random ladies and their kids, it was funny.
We finished off the day with the bird show. The kids got to pose for a quick picture with an owl (I can't remember the name of it now... but it was big)
Wednesday we went to IKEA. Both Sarah and I enjoy going there and the kids enjoy it as well. It was a fun couple of hours of shopping for random things and having some lunch. Thursday we went to Utah Hogle Zoo and that was fun. The kids were so good. It was a wonderful day! The weather was perfect and the company was great as well. The girls enjoy each others company. There are not too many girls with the cousins and these two get along very well.
I don't know why we always have to pose for a picture on top of these statues?!?
But it is a cute photo
But it is a cute photo
Leah and Mylo might be in the next Kung Fu Panda,
with these hats I think they would play the perfect part :)

A Warm Day at the Zoo
Last week we went to the zoo with Abuela, Nicholas and Alex, Amy and her kids. It was such a beautiful and warm day we couldn't pass it up. The kids were so good and even though it was crowded we truly enjoyed it.

We had 9 kids between 3 adults. It was a bit crazy at times but we didn't loose anybody. Abuela got Merry GO Round tickets for all the kids and they sure seemed to have enjoyed that. Some of us stayed a little longer and let the kids play at the park. I just sat back and watched play as I ate my popcorn. YUM!
